Another major change is the advent of wear resistant bearing also known as the high performance bearing. This has given a new dimension to arthroplasty of the hip.

Osteotomy of the hipOsteotomy of the hip - Osteotomy of the hip has always played an important role in hip reconstructive surgery. In the non paediatric hip, the commonly done osteotomy are Schanz osteotomy for the unstable hip and triple pelvic osteotomy for acetabular dysplasia.
