Birmingham Hip Replacement - Travel Health Recommendations
We advise international patients to take T. Mefloquine (T.Lariam) 250mg once a week starting a week before the expected date of arrival.
It is also a good idea to take the typhoid vaccine from your GP.
It is also recommended that once you have arrived here to consume only bottled mineral water, which is freely available. Unlike some western countries, the tap water here is not meant for drinking purposes.
Please note that you will be in a very protected environment and will really not be at a high risk for any of the above illnesses. These recommendations are advised only as a precaution.

Dr. Bose, firstly I want to thank you again for the "miracle" of the new knees. After the initial recovery I have been Pain free. Before it was a struggle to walk one block, and tennis was becoming more difficult and increasing painful (a constant 7). Now I can walk comfortably for any reasonable distance, and have become a "butterfly on the court".
Mrs Al Saeed Nada Ali Kadhim, from Iraq had
Rheumatoid arthritis on both her knees for 20 years.
